Keith Haring is hands down one of my favorite artists. If you’re not familiar with him then his art may seem remedial and cartoonish. When actually there is always a message behind his work. Its one of those things people tend to under-estimate… I can relate.

The Crack is wack murals are a lasting reminder of Haring’s art. He wanted to warn nyc kids against drug’s use during the height of the crack epidemic – hence its pupose on the handball court. Located at 128th street and Harlem Riverside Drive, I have always loved this mural everytime I passed by. Keith Haring died of AIDS in 1990, but his work is still very much alive…
